Cut by the Border
Documentary
World Premiere
Set in Tijuana, Mexico, this documentary follows Chava, a Mexican deportee whose memories span from his childhood in the United States to his forced return after 9/11 and his current life and work in Mexico. Through intimate conversations with Chava and others, the film explores how an invisible line carves through daily life, turning movement, belonging, and family ties into questions of survival. Seen through the eyes of a high school filmmaker, the film combines personal voices and archival images to demonstrate the human cost of borders and the resilience of those who live in their shadow.
